Tendaba Camp
Tendaba region is undoubtedly the best known birding destination in the Gambia and it lies roughly hour and half east of Brikama. The Tendaba Lodge’s proximity to several prime birding localities, such as kiang West National Park and Baobolong wetland reserve makes its perfect base for exploring the rich birdlife of the lower river region.
The Camp offers basic but comfortable accommodation amidst friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The camp and its surroundings also offer exceptional birding opportunities. A short walk to the nearby hills and woodland should produce the Black Rumped waxbill, Pygmy sunbird, Black scimitar bill, Yellow white eye, Brown Rumped bunting, Bronze winged courser, Klaa’s cuckoo and a host of others.
A boat trip into Baobolong Wetland reserve is also available from Tendaba camp.
