Bansang Quarry

Is home to a long established colony of Red Throated Bee eater which lies on the outskirts of the town of Bansang, about 20km southeast of Georgetown, The quarry area has small rain fed pool that host Whistling Ducks, Mottle Spine Tail, Rufous Chested Swallow, Hammerkop, Cinnamon Breasted Bunting, Northern Ant eater Chat, breeding Exclamatory Paradise and Pin Tail Whydahs, Grey Headed Kingfisher, Northern Red Bishop, while the adjacent hills and surrounding farmlands are good for raptors such as White Backed Vulture, Tawny Eagle, Ruppell’s Griffon Vulture, Booted Eagle and host of others.
