Bonto forest harbours one of the finest examples of rare ever green gallery of forest in the Gambia, at 65 ha, this community owned and managed reserve is said to be some of the best birding sites in the Gambia and is home to an astonishing 200 species including some rare and exciting forest birds such as the stunningly beautiful White spotted Fluff Tail, Verreaux”s Eagle Owl, African Goshawk,  Yellowbill, Green Crombec, Green and Violet Turacos, African Wood Owl, Buff Spotted Woodpecker, African Hobby, Collared Sunbird and more.
