Brufut Woods
Brufut forest is an easily accessible birding location not far the main resort areas, the site is one of the areas managed by WABSA (West African Bird Study Association) in collaboration with community of Brufut. The area protect a tiny pocket of dense coastal forest and open woodland which provides ideal habitats for many exotic species including the Long tailed nightjar which is reliably seen here at close quarters. The beautiful Green Turaco, Orange cheeked wax bill, Splendid sunbird, Verreaux’s eagle owl, African paradise flycatcher, Northern puff back, Yellow white eye, Bruce’s green pigeon, African pied hornbill, Violet Turaco, Cardinal woodpecker, Palm nut vulture, African harrier hawk and Pin tailed Whydah. All can be seen here
